Super User details incorrect after upgrade

Post by airgead » Thu Feb 20, 2014 4:16 am

Hi,

I migrated a 1.5 site to 3.x using SPUpgrade in April 2013. All went well and I was very happy. I cannot remember when this first occurred, but definitely since the upgrade to 3.2.1 and now 3.2.2, I'm getting an error after I have logged into the Administration area as the super user:

"Error

Username or password is incorrect or you don't have an account yet."

As a matter of housekeeping, I did remove the super user that was created as a part of the J3.x install.

I've checked the user table in the database and cannot see any users that should not be there (all the IDs cross check).

I have tried resetting the password and I still get this error. It doesn't seem to cause any other problems, but it does annoy me that I keep seeing it and I would really like to get rid of it.

I have raised this separately with the JoomlArt developers, but I am also having trouble with the T3 framework upgrade; anything higher than 2.6.8 results in a white screen for my home page. I don't know if the two are related, or whether it is simply coincindental and I have two separate and unrelated problems.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Christina Martin

Have you tried creating a new super user and logging into the new account to see if it is a problem there as well or if it is related to only one account?

Hi Cassandra,

Thanks for the suggestion.

I have (though I got weird MySQL errors that then too, and am having trouble tracking down). I've even tried re-creating the super user I had for the J3.xx install, but no matter what I try, I keep getting the same error.

When I've got some spare time (in the next decade or so) I might try a fresh install and then copying files across, and see if that cleans things up.

Regards,

Christina

Were you using an extension that moves you from the default Joomla login in 1.5 (Community builder, Extended Registration, etc...) or are you using one now?

Finally had a win on this!

It turns out that an integration between my Joomla install and another install was causing some conflict and I needed to have my user-name aligned. I only found out by accident, when I had logged out of the other installation and suddenly there was no problem. Logged back in and problem re-occurred. Change the user-name to match and hey presto! no problem.

So Cassandra's suggestion of non-standard user login was on the right track, I just didn't realise it.

Thanks for the help.
