change from long term support to short term has no effect

Hi
I have the latest Joomla 2.5.24 installed, and I want to try to upgrade to 3x. I changed the setting in the Joomla! Update component to 'Short Term Support', but the component message is still :
No updates available
You already have the latest Joomla! version, 2.5.24.

I have upgraded other sites using this, but I don't know why it is not working now.

Welcome to Joomla forum!

You can download the Joomla_3.3.3-Stable-Update_Package.zip from http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla ... ge_id=6930
and use Joomla's Extensions > Extensions Manager > Install to update your Joomla site.
Note: make sure PHP is higher than 5.3.10 and create a backup (eg using Akeeba Backup) before doing the upgrade.

You may use download Joomla 3.3.3 update package from http://www.joomla.org/download.html and try installing it with extension manager.

Way easier: Extension Manager--> Install--> paste this link into "Install from URL" http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsre ... ackage.zip and hit install
