long url

long url

frenchcottages/france/dordogne/le-sejour when i type in this old url, the redirect should go to

http://www.frenchcottages.com/rental-ac ... npazier/d2

but I get this:

http://www.frenchcottages.com/rental-ac ... Itemid=614

it is still the correc page, but the url is very long.

the page is a single article menu item so I am not sure why I am getting this url. Can anyone help?

Make sure that you did the following steps:

1) rename htaccess.txt file to .htaccess in your main website root(if you are using a Linux/UNIX and appache based hosting services).
2) set the Global Configuration parameter Search Engine Friendly URLs to Yes , except "html" is not necessary.
