Upgrade to Joomla 3.3.5 -- whiteout

Post by DefJeff » Wed Oct 01, 2014 6:51 pm

After migrating from 2.5 to 3.3.5 -- blank page. Turned on maximum error reporting:

Strict Standards: Declaration of KCommandChain::enqueue() should be compatible with KObjectQueue::enqueue(KObjectHandlable $object, $priority) in /Volumes/Cricket/_WEBSERVERS/SUMC_JOOMLA3/libraries/koowa/command/chain.php on line 23

Strict Standards: Declaration of KCommandChain::getPriority() should be compatible with KObjectQueue::getPriority(KObjectHandlable $object) in /Volumes/Cricket/_WEBSERVERS/SUMC_JOOMLA3/libraries/koowa/command/chain.php on line 23

I removed the Ohana extensions from the DB, but to no avail. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Try disabling the plugins one by one, and the modules one by one, until your reach a point where your website works again (you can do that from phpMyAdmin if you can't login to the backend).

Also, try switching to a different template and see if that solves the problem.

Have you disabled the "Remember Me" plugin?

Thanks for the quick reply. I have disable what I could in phpMyAdmin, and renamed all instances of remember.php. ( I assume that is how to disable the plugin?

Still no avail. Any other ideas?

Have you emptied the cache in browser after upgrade?

Yes, I have tried emptying the cache.
Unable to change the template since I cannot get into the backend.

I even reinstalled the 2.5 site, updated it to the latest 2.5 version. Then I removed all extensions that were not being used.
Did the upgrade to 3.3 ---

Same whiteout. Same error messages.

Can you provide Forum Post Assistant for both J25 and J33.
Issue with migrating? Include logs/joomla_update.php in your report!
Blank screen? Verify pagesource for HTML code (javascript error)
Installation failing on populating database? Install with set_time_limit(0)
Document your customizations!

without going to far off topic I'm also having the same whiteout issue when upgrading from 3.0.2 to 3.3.6 using the auto update. I've tried doing it manual and installing the updates of github.com but when I try that nothing happens literately.

I'm using wamp server with Apache 2.4.9, php 5.5.12 and sql 5.6.17.

I am still rather new to Joomla 3 but I know my way around Joomla 2.5. any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? everything seems fine but once the loading bar reaches 100% all I get is a white screen on the front and back end of the site. I've tried repairing the database but that didn't work. some of the tables were unable to be repaired.

Never mind, I've fixed it by installing the latest upgrade from the directory rather than uploading a zip file

Try replacing your core Joomla files from latest build. These errors are basically related to PHP development standards and should not be the root cause of the problem.
