Recover from 2019 Akeeba Backup - can't get into backend

Post by roicarl » Mon Aug 07, 2023 6:20 pm

Lost server and all backups - 2019 Akeeba .jpa was all I had. Set PHP to 5.5, Used Kickstart 5.4.2 and installed Joomla 3.6.5. Had to install it on a new server. Kickstart ran with no errors. Front end is good except the contact form doesn't work because SMTP settings need to be changed. After I login to the backend I get the white screen of death and no errors. I have configuration.php error reporting as development and I see nothing in the error log. Have not worked with Joomla for 5 years. My main concern is to get the contact form running until I can create a new website. Anyone have any ideas of what I should do next?

White screen = php error with PHP Error Reporting set to off on the server.
Could you enable error reporting to see the real error?
e.g. by adding

Code: Select all

php_flag display_errors on
to your .htaccess.
