Anyone have a solution migrating all the users from a v2.5.8 site to a v3.0.2 site?

I tried to install the Userport extension on 3.0.2 and it gives me a 400 error.

Thanks!!!

SP Transfer at a very reasonable €34.95 will do this for you:

A free way that you can do it is to create a copy of the 2.5 site using Akeeba Backup then setup the copy on the test server (https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentat ... umentation). Then use Joomla 2.5's Joomla Update component to update to Joomla 3.0.2. Afterward, you can just export the user table(s) and import them into your other 3.0.2 site.

Kind regards,
Nick

Well folks I did it the manual way. I exported the user tables to a SQL script. Made the changes I needed to the script and ran it on the new database. Was time consuming but in the end all the data transferred fine.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Upgrading a full site is easier that migrating the users only (usually :P). You just have to make sure all your extensions are Joomla 3 compatible and that your system meetings the technical requirements (http://www.joomla.org/technical-requirements.html), then make a backup of your site and go to Components >> Joomla Update >> Options >> set it to Short Term Support >> Save & Close (you might have to purge the cache) >> then click Update . That's it :)

All my extensions are not compatibles with Joomla 3, so the only free solution is Akeeba Backup?
