Auto update joomla 3.3.0 to 3.3.1 not working

I am trying to update a site from Joomla 3.3.0 to 3.3.1. You would think it would not have a problem. For some reason nothing happens, the wheel spins and spins and nothing gets updated. I purged the cache thought that might help. Any ideas?

do you have allow_url_fopen = On - PHP ? also dont forget to back up before update. also after update allow_url_fopen = Off

This is what I have on the php.ini file. It looks like yes. This starts at line 805

purge chache, clear and your browser s cache if this can help. and try to update again

As I mentioned in my original note I did purge the cache. Maybe I will try again on a different computer.

Any other ideas let me know.

Thanks again. There is no error message. It just doesn't seem to connect and the wheel keeps spinning. Upgraded another site and it went really quickly. So obviously something is hanging it up.

I'm also having the same problem but I'm on J 2.5.11 trying to upgrade to J 3

it s good to try to update local in your pc with wamp server to understand if this is your host issue. i had a similar issue not the same exactly with joomla 3x and i change my configure to my server host to work fine and joomla 2.5.x and joomla 3.x

you are run php 5.5 and i run php 5.4

also another solution is to make update from extention manager to install the update patch. before you do that dont forget to create a back up of your files and your sql
