Help please! Updated Joomla and now backend is inaccessible.

Hi,

I just updated my Joomla website through the backend (the message came up saying there was an update, so I went and installed it). I tried updating it to the latest version that just came out this morning (3.4.2 I believe). Something went wrong during the update process, and the update ended up not finishing. My website's frontend is working perfectly fine, but the administrative backend is inaccessible.

When I go to the backend ( www.mysite.com/administrator ), I get a page with the following message:

Error displaying the error page: Application Instantiation Error: JLIB_APPLICATION_ERROR_APPLICATION_LOAD


How can I fix my site? Thank you in advance; I really need help getting this working again :/
