Chinese Main Menu not showing on multilingual site

Hi All,

I have been trying to install Chinese as third language to a Joomlaman template based on Helix v2 but I can't get the main menu chinese to show up (both simplified chinese as well as traditional chinese). Languages are installed correctly, backend can switch to chinese without any problems. Content language is installed, main menu chinese with default chinese home page is installed like the other languages, language filter is published, language switcher is published, shows up and works fine.

Every language has his own template in which the correct language main menu is defined and assigned. Spanish and English main menus show up correctly, Chinese main menu does not show.

Chinese translation files show that files have to be saved as UTF-8, perhaps this could be an issue? Or the Helix v2 framework give multiple choices under menu / menu and language assignment (different than the Helix tutorials).

Anybody experiencing similar problems?

What gives the multilanguage status module in back-end

See attached picture, all looks fine to me.
Not sure it's Joomla, perhaps the Helix framework or language codes.
It seems the Helix framework doesn't create a Joomla module for the main menu.
