How to change System Language Code

In plugin manager System - Language Code I have changed the code to different language code, but in source code there is still en-GB.

Plugin is enabled. Webiste is one language only.

What else do I need to change?

Works here.
test with default Joomla template (protostar).

I have the same problem. I have installed Joomla in English and now I want to change default language in Italian, I have installed language pack and activated relative plugin but the default language in url is always "en".

it is a 2.5 site but most is the same as 3.x (we get more associations in 3.x)

after I tried turning off plugin language filter on my web, it turns code EN lost. should language filter deactivated.
