Login problems on dual language site

Post by jimbob1980 » Fri Sep 27, 2013 11:58 am

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I've done a search of the boards and can't find any info or help relating to a problem I'm having.

We run a dual language site (English & Czech). When visitors click on the 'forgot username' 'forgot password' or 'new registration' tabs on the English version of the site all is ok. But when done on the Czech version of the site it returns a blank page.

Example for new user registration is:

URL for EN is: /index.php/en/log-out?view=registration *working*
URL for CZ is: /index.php/cs/component/users/?view=registration *blank page*

Can anyone here advise me on where to start please? The majority of our site users will be Czech so it's imperative we get it working.

All help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

James

Just to add.

The login is set as a module. I've just tried as a menu item and its working fine. Problem is, we want the login floating on various pages so the module is the way we want to go rather than a login page.

Cheers

It looks like you have some user menu items (logout) that may not have the right access level. I.e they should not have a Public access level.

Without any public user menu item, the correct url is
xx/component/users/?view=registration

infograf768 thanks for your advice. I've worked my way around it by adding a login 'page' in the menu system and now anyone who clicks the links mentioned in the module from the front page get taken there where everything completes fine.

Could you elaborate any on how to change the setting you mentioned? I'm not 100% sure I am following fully.

Many thanks for taking the time to help.

I have the same issue on my test site:

English works fine bit Finnish doesn't. Login form isn't only problem. Kunena forum works only in English but in Finnish even super user cannot read even own topics.
