falang: menu link issues when working in multilingual site

Post by veki » Tue Nov 18, 2014 12:44 pm

Hello,
I have site based on 3 languages and I use FaLang. In one menu I have article with link that links to form that is attached to submenu that is not visible.
On English part of site that Menu is review . When I go form it to French part I can see it properly. but If I go from other menus I see only form that is attached to unvisible submenu.
Please advise.

Thanks,

VV

Can you show me your website with 'Review' link in two languages?

Hello,
I somehow fixed that. But, I have now different issue related to display of articles in different languages. English and Serbian article display article with blue title above it.
In french part I see either two titles or one in black. I attached the menu settings that are applied in all cases.
Please advise,

VV

Make sure that you have same config for all langiages, it means your config in menu items must be same like config via menu item in Falang that depend on each language.

Hello,

I think that there are 2 sources of confusion:
When we do translation the component for translation does have in translation different interface for setting up all parameters and that is quite confusing.
Secondly, when translated the article sometimes inherits parameters from original and sometimes doesn't.
I found many times that confusing which creates hassle.
I discovered that in French part of site it displays menu title too above title of article.
I hope that developers will somehow make that more neat.
Thanks,

VV

In Falang, example go to Falang > Translate > [language], select element 'menu', you will see, the COPY button only exist for:

- Menu title
- Menu alias

But unfortunate it's not for Menu Params, actually Falang should be apply button "COPY" for this element, or this option only available in Pro version.

Your problem, I think you change config after you translated menu item, so menu item (in other language) via Falang still keep old settings for params.
