Language doesn't show up as Content Language

Post by mgordon » Wed Nov 18, 2015 8:07 am

added a language besides English, but it doesn't show up as Content language. I can't figure out how to fix this.
I've got joomla 3.4.5

You will have to manually add it to Content languages for it to show

Please can you tell me how to manually add it to the Language Content list.

It is not in the install list, so I have downloaded the zip language pack and uploaded it via the extensions manager.

That is as far as I have reached as I can't see it anywhere.

Thank you.

Go to Extensions=>Languages=>Content Languages and Create a new Content language.
Be careful about the language tag. Read the tips.

Thank you infograp768.

I have tried to do this, but because the language is already in the Joomla system and appears for selection in the Site Content and Site admin areas it will not allow me to add it as a new language to be able to see it in the Language content section.

The language I am missing in the content language section is Norsk Bokmal

See screen shots.

Just Create a new content language for Norsk Bokmal. Evidently give it a different name, native name and tag from the nn-NO you already created. I would change the name and native name of the existing nn-NO to differentiate in frontend.

The only issue possible would be with the flag as we have in core only one Norwegian flag.
Just choose any flag or create one and do NOT use flags but names in the language switcher module.
