What pages for a seo analysis...

Post by melprok » Wed Jul 16, 2014 1:32 pm

I'm doing a seo analysis in my site.
But I have questions. When I run some seo report tools I see
to many pages. For example, I see all the blog posts as a page and a page for every category, ect...
I use Easyblog. In my main menu I have only 4 or 5 pages.

I have a doubt. Which pages should do the analysis?
Only the main pages?

I must do a seo analysis for a client
and I want to be sure on which pages I'm going to focus.

Thanks for the help!

The analysis for home and other main pages is important but you must also do it for other pages like blog posts. Blog posts are also very good source of traffic and helps is website ranking. It is also important to analyze posts for short comings in On-page SEO.

If you let goolge bot crawl your blog posts you will have better chances of ranking high for ceratin keywords within those blogs given that all other SEO aspects are correct. So to answer your question - you increase chances of high ranking by having more pages that are SEO friendly.

Just check out which pages brings in the most traffic. By then, you'll have an idea as to where should your SEO analysis on pages start.

I usually have specific pages designed to rank for specific keywords. Then I compare pages that rank higher than me for those keywords and figure out what they are doing different.

Yeah, blog posts are great ways of targeting very specific long-tail keywords. It might be a 4 or 5 word phrase that you wouldn't normally create a specific static page for but a couple of paragraphs in blog post can be enough to get it to rank.

Try analyzing Google Analytics. You'll get the picture there as to which pages aren't optimized for SEO. Then you'll have to do a more thorough analysis.
