New Business Strategy
Dear Forum Member,
My websites are not viewed bij the Google Search Engine.
Possible cause: I have a new businesss strategy. I provide a forum and wiki for several cities, for instance Biarritz
Site Meta keywords:
biarritzweb.co: biarritz web forum wiki
biarritzweb.co/wiki: biarritz wiki
biarritzweb.co/forum: biarritz forum
Robots: Index,follow
What can be improved so biarritzweb.co will be a search result when carrying out a search with "Biarritz"?
Thank you
hansieb

Hello Aidan,
Thank you for your post.
I read :
So I payed more attention to the Meta-data Title. It is one of the most imported elements of the SEO.
Where can I enter the Meta-data Title ? It is not clear.

Amazingly it's stated that search engines are ignoring the Meta-data keywords!

Re: New Business Strategy
Your menu item is normally the title if you are using menu items for each article or category.
If you have a menu item for a category containing a list of articles then the title for the articles will be used as the meta title.
In other words you do not have to do anything, (ensuring you select show title in the article parameters of course).
Just create an article within a category.
Create a menu item for the category.
Click on the menu item for the category.
Right Click the page and view source.
You will see the menu item name intags
Now click on the article in the category list.
Right Click the page and view source again.
You will see the article name intags
However I hope you are using Joomla! 2.5.24 as Joomla 3.x seems to be causing me problems, see:
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=712&t=858355
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=712&t=845879
So if you are going to use Joomla 3.x Just create articles and forget categories unless you are going to create a menu item for each and every category, (that is if you wish to use metadata or robots directives of course)

Re: New Business Strategy
Since migrating 1.5 and 2.5 sites to 3.3 I have found that the only way to get the right data into the head tags is to use the menu items to do this.
Also the only way to get many category settings to show is through the menu. The menu items do not recognize some of the Global settings/parameters.
Unfortunately this will require too much work as the 1.5 and 2.5 versions of joomla work as expected.
This after many hours of testing means that the 3 series of joomla is not ready yet.
It is not simply a template issue as I have tried in all the standard joomla templates associated with 2.5 and 3.x.
All work as they should in 2.5.
None work as they should in 3.x.
A major flaw in the system.
What surprises me is that many people have been using 3.x and do not seem to notice the problem.
I am Staggered beyond belief!
I cannot understand why 3.x is even released as a stable platform.
While I concede that meta keywords may not be essential, meta descriptions are if you wish to improve your click through rate.
Robots directive is also an essential tool.
I wish someone would comment on this as I personally did not migrate 1.5 sites to 2.5 knowing that 3.x was the responsive platform joomla was aiming for.
So naively I waited until I thought enough time had passed on 3.x until I spent the many hours involved migrating as I thought that glitches would have been sorted.
But these it seems that these 3.x releases just keep rolling out with no essential bugs being resolved.
The 2.5 sites work well but need a core responsive template.
I realize we will all look for our own templates, but the core should work with no major problems relating to SEO.
It does not!!!

@hansieb
I agree we do need someone to comment on this.
I would be quite happy to analyse the code, however as I am new to 3.x I would like to know what files I should look at as the time in hunting them down is more time than I have spent analyzing the problem.
Quite frankly I am exhausted!
