Google search returns {domainname}/uncategorized mess

A Google search of keywords that show my website returns a link that displays the legitimate items on my home page plus all of the uncategorized articles throughout my whole site. Instead of a clean home page, it shows 5 pages that look like garbage. It shows articles from other menus, items from hidden menus and unpublished modules. How does Google make up this link and what can I do to fix it? Thanks for your help.

Check for the menu items, whether they are all well organized, and for the garbage pages, remove those pages, and check your webmaster for any errors.
