Changing to new template without affecting live site

Hi there,

This is my dilemma:

1. I want to update my website's template
2. Currently, we have someone amping up our SEO
3. If I use a staging site, make template changes and push it to the live site, all the work this person has done and will do with the SEO will be overwritten

What are my options in terms of updating to a new template, without affecting what is currently been done on the live site?

Hope this makes sense :)

Hi, mostly, template does not affect SEO settings :idea:

And if you have modified some parts of the current template, the only one way when upgrading template, is to do the same changes to the newly installed template :idea:
