rightmools cookie

Post by vgargan » Fri Aug 29, 2014 7:18 am

Hello,

While I was trying to install a script for the EU cookie legislation on a new joomla 3.3 site, I noticed a cookie named "rightmools" which I could not figure out where it comes from.

I made a google search "rightmools cookie" and all results were sites that seemed to have been hacked. I am worrying about whether some malicious software is installed on the site. The site is updated with the latest versions of joomla and components.

Does anyone have a view of which may be derived the above cookie?

I haven't personally had contact with "rightmools cookie" and websearch doesn't give any clues that it's related to hacked websites.

Anyway, if you suspect your website to be compromised, best approach is to treat it as such.

If you have experience with PHP code, and know what you are doing, you could give JAMSS script a try:

Thanks Bernard!

I am not an expert but I think I can try some of the proposed actions.
