Post by swansales » Fri May 27, 2016 8:50 am

Hi

I am receiving the following error

"The http://www.swanhatsonline.com page is not working"
"www.swanhatsonline.com can not handle request"
HTTP Error 500

This error is occurring on all Manager options:
- Template Manager
- Extention Manager
- Modular Manager
- User Manager

and more.

Is is it possible for someone to assist me. I am currently running version 3.3.6.

I can't access the domain at all, my security software blocks it as a "malicious site". (Using McAfee Advisor plugin for Firefox).

You could try downloading the 3.3.6 package and unzip the system files back over the existing files to refresh them. https://www.joomla.org/announcements/re ... eased.html

Next try checking the file permissions (CHMOD 755 for folders, 644 for files).

One thing that could help us help you further is to run the FPA (Forum Post Assistant) on your site. Download the utility here http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=621&t=582860 or see very top of this forum in the red "Forum Rules" section, and post the resulting report into a reply on this thread. The FPA utility formats the report suitable for this forum.

The "Error 500" is a general server error, not Joomla-specific, you can check the server logs for clues to the error but might need your host to assist with accessing log files.

Does the administrator side work, other than what you have listed above; can you access the Menu Manger, Article Manager etc?

Does the front-end of the site work as it should?

My ISP also blocks the site: "... block harmful sites that may have viruses, phishing websites, blacklisted sites and scam sites - for example, fake banking websites."

It is likely that your has been hacked. Go through the check list from this sticky post at the 3.x Security forum:

Several people reported that your site cannot be accessed because it is blocked by malware shields. It is therefore more than likely that your site has been hacked. Your site runs an old and unfortunately vulnerable version of Joomla.

Go through the check list from this sticky post at the 3.x Security forum: http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=714&t=757645
