Send Warning that Content will soon expire.

Dear all,

Is there a way to send a use a warning when an article in a specific category is about to expire?

You can develop a cron job that does that. The cron job will call a PHP file that checks for almost expired articles and emails a warning to the right person (perhaps the editor of that article).

How will this cron job find who the editor of the article is. Do articles have any way of "knowing" who has editorial rights over them?
