Sounds like a reciprocal link exchange. That part doesn't scare me really if you have the choice to exchange with only high pr websites, and block or refuse a link exchange with low pr websites. The fact that there are 100s of backlinks built "within minutes" scares me. If you have the option of trickling the links in over a time frame of weeks or months it would be more casual. Instead of a slow and natural organic link process, I'd think Google would be able catch onto this pretty easily. I don't have the courage to try this extension out, and from what I know it doesn't seem to fit the Google guidelines.
