What security plugins to recommend?
Now our site is finally clean with the latest Joomla version, I wonder if there are specific extensions used for added security?
Searched around here, found nothing practical for my needs.
Thanks!

The most important thing is to keep your website up to date and use only reliable extensions. RS Firewall is an excellent security extension that works very well so you might want to consider it.
You should also make sure that the environment you're running on is a secured environment (shared hosting environments are not that secure, you should opt for a VPS or for a dedicated server).

Thanks! I understand the basic security measures we must do on our end.
I will look into this tool you recommended. Hopefully it is not expensive.

I registered on the site, but can't download. It says "Unfortunately, you do not have any active memberships." So nothing there for me to download, strange how they run business

Re: What security plugins to recommend?
That is completely nonsense, sorry. Also, if you advise people, who are not sys admins, to get a vps or dedicated server you should include the word "managed", because a server is not a toy! And if you trust a company that they handle your managed server correctly, you could also trust them with their shared hosting plans.itoctopus wrote:(shared hosting environments are not that secure, you should opt for a VPS or for a dedicated server).

It's a commercial component, you should open a support ticket with them.snakebaby wrote:I've been waiting for someone to guide me on downloading the recommended software RSfirewall. Thanks!

I use Admin Tools Pro and it's been very good for security. Maybe worth a look.

Hello snakebaby!
Admin Pro Tools has a lot of good reviews, so you should definitely consider it. You'd also want to protect your site from spambots and keep a close eye on the registration process of your users. I'd recommend browsing the category http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... protection -you will see both free and paid items.
Hope this is useful!
