JCE Editor not showing HTML when toggled Chrome Only

For some reason, just in the last two days, I can not use the Toggle Editor and see the HTML code. This happens only in Chrome, it works fine in Firefox. With Chrome, when I toggle the editor, I see the HTML code flash for a second, then the editor turns into a blank text area.

I have this occurring on a number of Joomla sites, running various versions of Joomla 3+/.

Has anyone else seen this happen? I am wondering if Chrome just did an update and changed something. I have all my shortcuts, etc in Chrome so I hate to switch browsers.

I have the most recent version of JCE Editor installed.

Any thoughts?

I have a couple of problems with JCE on win8 xampp php 5.6.8 but not that one.

So you mean that it is solved? is it working for you now? I'm having the same issue and I already tried from diferent machines, either from mac and pc every other browser works, but in chrome toggle editor just gives a blank text area with nothing in it.

How did you solve it?

My joomla version is current, And the toggle editor function was working ok last week this is happening since wednesday I think.

My system info is like this

Well, I thought it was fine, as I was working on a new article, but then went back in and realized that it was not. Very frustrating.

If I start a new article, I can toggle to HTML mode. I save, quit and come back in, I can not toggle to HTML mode. There is a workaround. You can see the HTML markup if you click on the little icon in the toolbar that looks like a pair of tag brackets (open and closed pointy brackets that you use for HTML tags).

I also found that once you DO click on that icon, and it shows its own version of the HTML code, then if you hit the regular Toggle Editor, then it works.

So the workaround is click the icon, then click on Toggle Editor.

If I find a better solution, I will be sure to post it.

I've having multiple issues with JCE. Version 2.4.6 won't toggle to HTML code any more, as others have noted.

So, as recommended, I installed 2.5.0 but that seems to have bugs too. It won't allow me to format text, eg as italics -- it just won't accept the command. And it also corrupts the "Read More" function.

Oh, and another thing: both versions keep timing out when I save the latest edit!

It is very frustrating. I am only having this toggle issue with Chrome. I did go to their forum and searched for similar issues, and Googled it, but I did not find any recent posts where people have these problems.

I am a web developer, so I toggle to HTML all the time to micro manage my articles. I guess I switch to Firefox or use the HTML code button in the dashboard. It is OK, just not as clean and simple.

When I make any kind of editorial changes using JCE 2.5.0, a piece of extra code ( class="" ) is introduced into the "read more" command, corrupting it. This happens in both Chrome and Firefox.

I tried uninstalling 2.5.0 and reinstalling the old JCE -- and now it's happening with that version too! I'm having to work in TinyMCE

Is anyone else finding this?

Also discovered this problem this morning, although it is not consistent. But 4 out of 5 times I toggle to the html it is blank and the box can not be resized. If I toggle back then all is well and the box can be resized.
I am still using the 2.4.6 version. I thought about testing the 2.5.0 RC6 till I read that someone here was using it and still had the same problem.
I had to change to Firefox if I wanted to do any html work.

Yes, that's happening to me too - I was wondering what the problem was. I installed the JCE patched version to fix the chrome/toggle issue - but that seems to have created this new problem! Well at lease tiny MCE seems to be a way around it.

Update JCE editor to latest version (JCE 2.5.0, beta) fix bug but then doesn't work Insert Read More. All article is visible, not introduction text only (blog layout). I think is better to wait when new stable version of JCE editor is released.

Same here.

[Toggle Editor] show an empty field in Chrome. Firefox is OK.

Using the "Source Code Editor" button won't present that problem, but I prefer to use the toggle function 'cause is faster.

I've backtracked to 2.4.6, where at least the "readmore" button is working. Apparently 2.5 is due for release this week so hopefully that will fix both issues.

I installed JCE version 2.5.1 which worked fine for about a week. But now, suddenly, I'm unable to use it to upload and insert new images!

I click on the relevant button but nothing happens. I've tried uninstalling the editor and reinstalling it, but still no joy. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Sorry, Webdongle -- I don't understand. What's happening is, when I click on the "image" button at the bottom of the JCE edit screen in order to upload an image, the link doesn't work any more.

It was fine until a couple of days ago. Then an image upload failed and it hasn't worked at all since. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling JCE 2.5.1. but that didn't fix it. I don't want to revert to the earlier version of JCE, as that had started playing up too!

PS --- Just downloaded JCE 2.5.2 -- seems to have fixed it... so far !

No, I never do that, and I always check in the HTML screen that there's no weird formatting.
