Everything is duplicated/triplicated in back-end
Hi
my Joomla started having some strange behaviour
everythinf is triple in my backend
-every article is listed 3 times
-every menu item is listed 3 times
-every module is listed 3 times
-every plugin is slisted 3 times
see pic...
they are not duplicated, they all ahave the same ID
checked in the DB, there are no duplicates, only one instance of them
but they show 3 times nontheless in backend. Just one time in the front-end
tried deleting cache, removed old cache, fixed database...nothing, everything is still triple....
any hint or help?

Re: Everything is duplicated/triplicated in back-end
Hi and thanks first of all!
No, in the database there is only one entry.
As an example, the "Join us" module shown above is just once, with id=236
I have tried the FPA yesterday, but it gave me 500 error....will try again...

Re: Everything is duplicated/triplicated in back-end
Bluestork is not a 3.4.8 Template ... In extensions >>> Manage >>> Manage ... uninstall it.
Provided your database is not corrupt you can rebuild your site easily. Worst scenario
Install Joomla to another database and install your 3rd party extensions. Then edit the configuration.php to connect to your original database.
Rebuilding using fresh files is the worst scenario and can be done on localhost or a sub folder on the server.

yes, yhe site has been migrated from 2.5 and Bluestork was in it...Webdongle wrote:Bluestork is not a 3.4.8 Template ... In extensions >>> Manage >>> Manage ... uninstall it.
However, uninstalling it didn't solve the problem...

Try
Overwrite the Joomla files with the ones from the Joomla full package zip (all except the /installation folder)
If no Avail you can rebuild the files. Do you use localhost ?

Re: Everything is duplicated/triplicated in back-end
It's a site which is in "near production" state....I fear overwriting files, don't want to mess it up
I can make a bakup with Akeeba then restore to localhost (but it's a 6GB website...will take some time)

Re: Everything is duplicated/triplicated in back-end
Copy your site to localhost
Install Joomla in another folder on localhost
Install your 3rd party extensions into the new Joomla instance.
You now have all the files your site needs to run (minus any 2.5 files left over from the update)
Edit the configuration.php file of the new Joomla to connect to the database that has a copy of your site's data.
You now have your original data connected fresh files that don't contain any files that were left over from your update. If you have extensions like image galleries which generate thumbnails ... you can copy those over or regenerate them using the extension that created them in the first place.

Re: Everything is duplicated/triplicated in back-end
You have several issues with the server:
System TMP Writable: No
Session Path Writable: No
Max. Upload Size: 25M | Max. POST Size: 8M (Max. POST Size should be the largest value)
Duplication is often caused by a joined table returning several rows for a given item. Enable Debug in Global Configuration and inspect the sql queries. Try them out in phpmyadmin to find the culprit. The #_assets table is the most likely candidate, as you get duplication of several item types.

No, it's not the Joomla Tmp folder. It's the server system folders.

Re: Everything is duplicated/triplicated in back-end
You might want to install ACL-Manager and that will repair fully automated your assets table (Per is right...this is asses table: These things happen most often after a migration from J25 to J348) and ACL-Manager repairs this. Cost a few bucks only and you are done in a few minutes. http://aclmanager.net

Yes Kevin I mean that one. Every J25-J348 has always(!) a couple of hundred asset issues after a mgration and ACL-Manager resolves them (we use that in each migration or even upgrade and install it per definition on client sites with the usual stuff like Akkeba, JCE, Nonumber etc. This is a crucial extension!

Re: Everything is duplicated/triplicated in back-end
Thanks,
tried ACL manager, fixed all missing and orphaned assets...
no chance, everything still triplicated...
I suspect it's a check-in/checkout issue...
If I click on any of the "triple" module, then just hit "save and close", than there is just one instance of the module, but locked and checked in by admin??? (see pic...)

Re: Everything is duplicated/triplicated in back-end
On localhost
Install a fresh Joomla
Create a new database and import you site database to it
Edit the configuration.php (of the fresh install) to connect to the database that has your site data.
If there is still duplication then it is your database.

Re: Everything is duplicated/triplicated in back-end
It could be that one (or more) of your 3rd party extensions installs different files depending on which version of Joomla it is installed into. If it turns out not to be the database then you can switch the configuration.php back to the fresh database and install your 3rd party extensions. hat wil give you all the files you need. Then (yes again) ... Edit the configuration.php (of the fresh install) to connect to the database that has your site data
If it turns out to be your database and you can't fix then use http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... port/j2xml (there are others) to manually transfer your Articles etc. It will require rebuilding menus and installing your 3rd party extensions ... but it should have your site running.
Those are a few options

Not the remote database.autodafe wrote:...

Export the database to an sql file
Create an empty database on localhost and import the sql into that
Use that database not the remote one.
Then you can edit the database (that's on localhost) without damaging the live one.

Re: Everything is duplicated/triplicated in back-end
I discovered that the error about not being able to save modules was some conflict with ths ISIS admin template. If I use another template module saving works as expected.
