How to know the user login history/summary?

I have specific situation. I would like to know the login time of each user and log out time. I would like to know that when particular user has been logged in, what did he/she worked on and when did logout happen?

I have the same need and looked in the JED under Security. Can you be more specific about which extension would provide the login history/summary wanted. Is it necessary to use a 3rd party login extension to get login history?

Docman's Logman may work. Not cheap though, relatively speaking. Maybe a last resort.
