Restrict view permission by user

Post by Coldyfire » Sun Jul 12, 2015 2:18 am

Hi all,

I have following case:
I created Category CatA which contains articles for User A only.
I created Category CatB which contains articles for User B only.

There is a menu called "restricted content", and it requires login:
- When user A logs in, he can view articles in Category CatA only.
- When user B logs in, he can view articles in Category CatB only.

How can I do it?

Here what I did:
Create category X
- Create sub-category CatA and assign it for Access Group A only. (User A belongs to group A)
- Create sub-category CatB and assign it for Access Group B only. (User B belongs to group B)
However, after user A login, he can still view title of articles of B.
I want A to view CatA articles only.

Please help.

Thank so much,

Do you have corresponding viewing access levels, Level A and Level B?

Did you configure them so that Group A has viewing access to Level A and Group B to Level B?

If you have set the sub categories and the articles under them to the corresponding viewing access levels, Level A or Level B, each of the two groups will see only their own articles.

If your site uses caching, clear the cache in Joomla. Some template frameworks have their own caching systems which need to be cleared. Last, but not least, clear the cache in the browser, too.
