Need help with ACL

Post by aimlesslady » Tue Nov 09, 2021 7:58 pm

I have set up several groups, all based on Registered User. The permissions for each of the groups is to control the editability of a particular component. I have set up Viewing access levels as well. One for each of the groups, so the group and Super User are assigned to it.
Each user has different combinations of these group's permissions, so multiple groups are assigned to each user.
It is working well until I add Publisher (so they can edit articles) to the user. It doesn't show edit buttons for the articles (front end). However, if I remove one of the other groups (one that gives permission to view submission for RSForms), the edit button appears. I happen to have 2 groups to view RSForm submissions (for different forms) and this doesn't happen when the other one is added to the user. I have compared all the settings for Articles and Global Configuration for both groups that gives permissions for RSForms and they are identical. I can't figure out why that one seems to be canceling out the Publisher ability to edit.

Any insight would be helpful!

UPDATE: I figured it out! The article in particular that I was concerned about had its permissions set to Denied (Not Allowed) rather than Inherited (Not Allowed). I am referring to individual article itself, not the Global article option permission settings.
