Exemplary built in j3.3 component

Any recommendation for a particular built-in component to examine that has been recently completely rewritten (or is new) for j3.3
Most components have been around a long time and may have bits of legacy coding style in them. Which is the best one to study?
com_banners at least has several views and models in the backend, but is it up to date, or has it just been tweaked since j1.7?

The installation application could be used as an example or com_config in the frontend.
Issue with migrating? Include logs/joomla_update.php in your report!
Blank screen? Verify pagesource for HTML code (javascript error)
Installation failing on populating database? Install with set_time_limit(0)
Document your customizations!
