Form with no labels but using renderfield

Bit of a random one ...

I have a few forms with fields where I don't want a label. I've used hiddenlabel="true" which prevents a default label being shown, but actually I don't want the "label space" to be used at all:

I have this:

The blank space to the left of the field appears to be due to using renderfield(), which has too many advantages foe me not to use.

Any ideas?
