Joomla 3.2.1 Bug: Language Overrides Error

Post by sugarandspice35 » Sat Jan 11, 2014 2:45 pm

In the Language Overrides section in the admin panel, it says that site overrides are actually in the 'administrator' location, in the location column on the right. But when you click the override to edit it, it says its location is 'site' on the edit page. Think this is a bug.

Interesting... I check on a localhost environment and the behavior is not the one described in post - For Admin strings it shows Administrator and for the Site strings it show Site.

Can you attach some screenshots that describe the behavior?

Hi imanickam,

Here is a screenshot (attached).

As you can see, in the column on the right, it says that the location for the strings is in Administrator. However, when I click on any of the language strings to edit them, it says that the Location is 'Site' on the edit page. I have shown an example of this with one of the screenshots showing the edit screen of a language string on the Contact Page, and then the same language string on the Language Overrides page, where you can see it says a different location. It should be located in 'Site', but in the list of overrides it says it is located in Administrator.

Interesting...

What happens when you select "English (United Kingdom) - Administrator"? Can you attach a screenshot?

Is this an upgrade from a previous version of Joomla!?

Can you please test this in a new installation?

Hello,

I am having this issue as well. I am attaching the requested screenshots.

Please help. I don't want to hard code anything as then updates will just remove any changes.

Please note that as of this post, I am running Joomla 3.2.3.

Thank you!

In my case, I installed a fresh copy of 3.2.3, BUT I imported SQL Data from a Joomla 1.5 install, as I wanted to upgrade.

Not sure if during the import, it messed something up though.

That is not a supported way to migrate. Advice to migrate properly!
Issue with migrating? Include logs/joomla_update.php in your report!
Blank screen? Verify pagesource for HTML code (javascript error)
Installation failing on populating database? Install with set_time_limit(0)
Document your customizations!

Sorry about that.

I meant I used MigrateMe extension. I didn't do the migration myself.
