User registration not working in joomla 3.2

I note that there does not appear to be an update on the user registration issues e.g.

I installed from new to build a new website however, I am having much the same issues as already posted, i have tried all the solutions that has been posted up to end of November 2013, but non of them don't work.

Can not register new users on the front end. After filling in all of the details and pressing return nothing happens apart from the password line appearing blank.

I also note that not all of the comments comes up when you enter incorrect information, such as password too short or there is not a mixture of upper, lower case and number.

Has anyone been able to solve these issues as yet?

Hi thanks for your response.

I have changed the template to the protostar and tried to log in.

this time when i retuned after filling in all the detail i got the following error.
Warning
Password does not contain enough symbols. At least 1 symbol is required.

Invalid field: Confirm Password:

Empty solution not allowed.

Download the fpa, unzip, upload to your server, run it, copy/paste the results here please http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=621&t=582860

I have downloaded the zip files and then uploaded the FPA-en.php to my public.htlm directory and then run the required script but just got the following error

"The requested URL /cms/fpa-en.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. "

have is missed something?

The fpa should be put in the same folders as the configuration.php is in. Then the browser pointed to it.

but I am still getting a similar message

Either you have the fpa in the wrong directory or you are pointing your browser at the wrong directory or something on your site is redirecting or you have a server error.

The reason why I have " images/odudedir/ (777) | media/ecard/ (777) " is because the software designer say that is what is required.

Notwithstanding the above point, the user registration was not working before it was installed.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what is causing the user registration not to work????

If you need the folders/files 777 instead of the correct permissions to make that extension work then something is wrong. Suggest you set folders 755 and files 644

It is your site that is not working correctly.

You set the permissions of a folder 777 ... this leaves you vulnerably to being hacked.
Your custom template does not display error messages
The error message that you receive(when using a good template) does not look like a Joomla error message

It looks like you have installed an extension that replaces Joomla registration. It is possible that you are not entering a password that meets the criterion of that extension or that the extension is not working correctly.

Was it always a 3.2 site ?
Have you altered the settings of any of the Joomla core plugins ?

it was always a 3.2 site from the outset

is it possible for me to just overwrite the joomla plugins by just reinstall them?

Do you have a latest version of Joomla? There was a bug with registration in 3.2.0 that was fixed in 3.2.1

There was a line of code changed but it is unclear if it was an actual bug that caused the OP's issue http://developer.joomla.org/version-3-2 ... notes.html . In any case the version of Joomla is at 3.2.1(according to the fpa output) ... updating to 3.2.2 may fix the issue. But as Registration was working and now isn't ... then perhaps sort the problem before attempting an update.
