Can't Reorder Nested Sub-Categories

The drag & drop function doesn't work when trying to reorder nested categories. You can easily reorder any parent categories, but when trying to drag sub-categories, the functionality doesn't work.

It seems to work all right. Did you use the options described in these instructions:

Yes, and the parent categories work fine. I've attached some screen shots...

1. Normal category view showing lots of nested categories.
2. Dragging a parent category (works fine)
3. Dragging the "executive" nested category (doesn't highlight in green, related nested categories disappear so you can't tell where to "drop", and everything is grayed out)

I tried the drag-and-drop function of subcategories level in an out-of-the-box 3.1.5 installation using subcategories of the test data and everything works in IE8, Chrome and Firefox.

I've tried it on another site with only a few sub-categories and it works fine. Do you think it could be related to having a large amount of sub-categories?

No, just the sample data with 25 categories altogether, max half a dozen in one group of subcategories.

I just upgraded to Joomla 3.2 and that fixed the issue.

I am having this problem (or similar) with J3.3.1 (Isis template). Same issue with Firefox, Chrome, and Safari on a windows 7 pc.

I can re-order top level categories OK. But dragging the order icon for sub-categories causes all sub-categories to disappear and the top level categories are greyed out. Cannot tell where to drop the item that I'm moving.

It would be good if someone can point us to a fix for this.

** NOTE ** The admin Hathor template works the old way and does not have this problem.
