Smart Search not functioning on Featured Articles page

Smart Search not functioning on Featured Articles page

Greetings. I believe I found a bug that is repeatable.

If you set the "Home" page to be "Featured Articles" and try to use the Smart Search function, suggestions do not populate. If I change my "Home" page to anything other than "Featured Articles" it seems to work as designed.
