The Joomla Project announces the immediate availability of Joomla 1.6.5. This is *not* a security release. This release corrects an issue in the Extension Manager Update program that, in rare instances, can cause files to be deleted during a Joomla version update. For this reason, it is strongly recommended that you update to version 1.6.5 prior to updating to version 1.7.0, which will be released on July 19.

The Production Leadership Team's goal is to continue to provide regular, frequent updates to the Joomla community. Learn more about Joomla! development at the Developer Site.
