ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS when installing - cPanel Server

Hi all,

I cannot install joomla 4, it gives the above error and a crazy url:

I've set memory to 256M and other recomended values.

Error reporting is turned on.

How can i find what's wrong with my server?

Did you download the installation package from https://downloads.joomla.org and then upload it to the server and expand or did you use some other method?

Yes i did everything like you said. Also i ran update check tool from another joomla 3.10 install and everything passed regarding the server.

Was the Joomla folder empty before you uploaded the expanded Joomla installation package there or expanded it in the server folder?

Check if there are any .htaccess files in the main Joomla folder, which may have been set up by the host.

Are the Joomla files in the server folder called public_html or have you set up subfolders for subdomains under public_html?

Please post the results from the Forum Post Assistant (FPA) by following the link at https://forumpostassistant.github.io/docs/ so that the configuration can be reviewed.

Do you have access to the PHP error log, maintained by the web server?

Yes it's my own VPS so i have access to everything.

I restarted the process, deleted everything, uploaded and extracted the joomla file, same error and no errors in php logs.

The FPA results from the Joomla 4.4.0 installation show that the file configuration.php does not exist. Therefore Joomla is unable to connect to the database server.

Is the database server running? Has the database schema for Joomla exist? Do you have the username and password of the database user, which is required, together with the hostname of the database server? Was the database user created with adequate permissions so that the Joomla installation process can creat database tables?

Right now your website is displaying a Joomla 3 home page using the Protostar template.

I believe the file configuration.php does not exist because it is only generated with the concluded joomla installation whicj+h is not happening.

This server has 20+ sites using Joomla 3 and everything works. Only Joomla 4 has causes these problems so the MySQL server is up and running fine apprently.

I recently upgraded MySQL to 8.0 but i wasn't able to install also with 5.7 so i don't believe that's the problem.

When the installatin process fails, tables are created.

If i upgrade from Joomla 3.10 to Joomka 4.4, Joomla 4 is working. I just want to be able to install it from scratch without this extra step.
