Class "JRequest" not found after Joomla 4 Update Topic is solved

After a long process to update my site from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 4 I’m stuck at the last part.
I’ve manage to successfully update to Joomla 3.10, but then I’ve had multiply issues after updating to 4.4. I did manage to fix some of them.
But in the frontend I see only - CLASS "JREQUEST" NOT FOUND
I did set my error reporting to maximum and the debug is ON – and that’s it.
Switching frontend templates doesn’t make and difference.
Same – no other error reporting except - CLASS "JREQUEST" NOT FOUND

Someone please help.

Welcome to the Joomla forum!

One of the third party extensions, probably a plugin or a module, is not compatible with Joomla 5. Try to disable them one at a time and check if the frontend starts working.

But in the frontend I see only - CLASS "JREQUEST" NOT FOUND

The class JRequest was deprecated in Joomla 2.5 and removed in Joomla 3.

I did set my error reporting to maximum and the debug is ON – and that’s it.

This can happen if the PHP extension Xdebug is not compiled or enabled in PHP.

Ok, I found the solution – I had 2 outdated plugins for Facebook.
But the way that I find out about it may help someone in similar situation so I'll post it.
Turns out that just switching the themes doesn't work - I had to disable my Magz theme and then switch to default Joomla 4 theme Cassiopeia. When I did that, the error reporting and debug mode was finally working and displaying all the errors in the frontend and it was easy to identify the problematic plugins.

Thank you for the update! Possibly just an oversight from the developer of that theme. All templates should have a position for system and error messages. Otherwise, how can a template claim to be compatible with Joomla?

Exactly! And I had that issue whit two premium themes of known developers – one of Gavick and one of Joomlart. I know that my subscription and both themes was very outdated but still - no error reporting… That makes me question should I get new subscription and update their themes or just move on and look for something from another developer.
