FreeOTP states Token is unsafe!

Post by jparker » Sun Mar 12, 2023 11:50 am

When using Multi-factor Authentication in Joomla 4.2.8 and upon scanning the QR code displayed in Authenticator app setup using the FreeOTP app, the app displays the following warning:

Token is unsafe!
The token you are attempting to add contains weak cryptographic parameters. Use of this token is strongly discouraged! Please alert your token provider.
You are then given the choice of canceling or adding anyway.

Is there a real issue here?

Thanks!
