Hi.

Joomla 5 installation stops wirh error: Call to undefined function Joomla\CMS\Form\dom_import_simplexml()

XML_writer and ..._reader are enabled. I can not find any solutions to this order. PHP 8.2 enabled

The function dom_import_simplexml() is a native PHP function.

Go to the backend of Joomla, System - System Information - PHP Information. Search for DOM/XML. Is it enabled? Is SimpleXML support enabled?

If you have cPanel, provided by your host, locate the section PHP Selector and go to the tab Extensions. Make sure that the following extension have been selected: dom, simplexml and xml.

IMPORTANT INFO: I could install Joomla 5 with cpanel. Now I can login and everything but when I try to go to edit menus or articles, I get this:

I have installed this site to a subdomain. The main domain still uses PHP 7.4. Could this be a root cause? I can point different PHP versions to different domains and everything seems ok when looking to cpanel settings.

For some very strange reason DOM was not compiled as enabled into PHP. The PHP configuration has also a number of other anomalies, all of which should be fixed to avoid obscure error messages in Joomla 5:

The installation methods offerered by hosts through tools like Softaculous are usually not recommended. It is better to download Joomla from https://downloads.joomla.org, expand the installation package in the workstation or on the server and upload the folders and files to the document root and then access the domain to start the installation process.
