So thanks in part to this forum, I am making progress. Now I can see the Joomla! logo but there are no tables in my database and get the error message in the title plus...
1146 Table 'mydomain_joom.mydomain_extensions' doesn't exist

Which is true. In phpMyAdmin I see the database that I created "mydomain_joom" but it has no tables in it. Any help greatly appreciated.

There definitely should be tables in the DB. The installation process creates them. Are you using the correct database? Is this a clean install or migration from v4.4?

The URL to your site would be useful.

From my review of the FPA, it doesn't reveal anything that would point to the problem.

Can you turn on PHP reporting, and Debug, and report back to this forum, the specific errors you're seeing (additional to what you have already provided)?

Thanks for the quick reply. I am not sure I am using the correct database but it is the only one that I created that is related to Joomla. This is a clean install but it is a manual installation because the auto installation was not working presumably because I am using a dual PHP version setup to support legacy programs running on my server.
