Why J5 still make wrong canonical?

We all know that canonical was never implemented in Joomla in proper way. There was J3, there was J4, now is J5 and we still have same problem.

The main issue is that google is overriding the user declared canonical with its own google selected one. But its opting a totally different product, brand, type. This has happened to around 30% of shopify products and growing everyday. Resulting in less pages being indexed.
