Joomla 5 hosting (again)…

Post by JAVesey » Mon Oct 30, 2023 2:58 pm

I’m on hols this week and have time to move away from the lagardly (and expensive!) Siteground.

Narrowed my choices to:
1. Rochen (had a reply, definitely J5 ready)
2. GWS-Host (awaiting a reply about J5 readiness)
3. Hostinger (based on reviews of UK hosting, but no info about database versions online).

Can anyone help with either 2 or 3 above? Want to start the process on Weds 1st :geek:

@JAVesy , I’ve had experience with GWS-Hosting and would definitely recommend them. Very thorough and knowledgeable about Joomla. (@leolam is the owner and he contributes quite a bit to the forums.)

After much agonising I’ve gone with Hostinger, partly due to the reviews I’ve seen and (largely) due to the fantastic offers they have on Joomla hosting over a four-year period. Too good to pass up.

Database is Maria 10.6.x and PHP 8.2.9 (currently)

Just waiting for my domain to transfer then upwards to J5 :)

Rochen state they support all versions of Joomla from 1 to 5. They even provide EOL versions of PHP with security patches installed.
No affiliation other than a long time user and it is a fine Scottish hosting company!!
