Trying to work out how often major upgrades happen in Joomla!

Postby SusanLooms45 » Mon Nov 26, 2012 2:45 pm

I'm looking at this trying to work out how often major upgrades happen in Joomla. If this was 2 years ago and we are currently on 2.5 and 3 is in beta then am right in assuming about every 2 years to increment a version by 0.5?

1.5 and 2.5 is long term releases with suport for 3 year period. The latest 3.0 is a short term release with a 6 month lifespan, superseeded by 3.1. The next LTS wil be 3.5, replacing 2.5

I still have 1.5 sites that I don't know how/can't upgrade to 2.5.
