Just to say, congratulations and well done. There are many thousands who appreciate your efforts and only a minority who whinge and complain about something they are getting for free...

Now, I do not see an Warning in Joomla! Update "You already have the latest Joomla! version, 3.2.1."
Nevertheless, My question is: Does the update due to this error will not cause any problems for me?
thank you.

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.2.1 Released
Update to 3.2.1 caused problems with Helix II framework backend crashing. So if you're using a template powered by Helix II framework hold on with the upgrade and let the Joomshaper guys solve the problem first
Also I've noticed that since the update the "Install from web" hangs on the "Loading..." and never loads the extension market.
Best regards,
Zian @ http://www.ziandesigns.com

Fatal error: Call to a member function getInt() on a non-object in /home/joomla/www/demo/administrator/components/com_postinstall/models/messages.php on line 37
Just like updaged to Joomla 3.2.0, I deleted libraries/fof, and upload the folder fof by FTP, then everything is fine.
Another problem is Tiny_MCE editor doesn't work now.

I also lost access to the administrator account in one of my Joomla 3.2->3.2.1 updates.
PHP version on the live server: 5.4.21
The site was developed recently on local server starting with Joomla 3.2 and PHP 5.4.19.

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.2.1 Released
Thanks for all the hard work on the release. I .still have the same issue as in 3.2, the remember me functionality simply will not work. The session key is being written to the user and being written to the database. I have set the session to the max at 60 minutes to reduce user complaints but they must log in after 60 min of inactivity. I have tried using FTP to replace all files in the event one or more were missed or corrupt and no change. Can someone point me to the specific files and function in the code that is supposed to make this work so I can debug and create a workaround or solution

I confirm this and have posted this on the Tracker and in the Bug Squad. During pre-release testing this was working properly (I know since I was part of that testing) and somehow this has sneaked in again.crowderdr wrote:Thanks for all the hard work on the release. Work around: First use the Joomla upgrade from the installer normally and test. If issue arises that 'remember me' is not working than ==>
Go to Extension Manager==>Install from URL==>paste: http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsre ... ackage.zip and hit the 'install' button. I have tested this on several sites and this resolved for me

If you have lost your access to your admin area do the following:
go to PHPMyAdmin and open your database and find table 'xxx_users'
here you find your username. Click edit and change the password toNow you can login and your admin with your username and use as password

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.2.1 Released
There is no file change...You just reload the upgrade with the "install from URL" zip link I provided. That is the full stable upgrade package of 8MB which is also fetched with the Joomla upgrader. (are looking at present in the BugSquad what might cause this (possible) inconsistencycrowderdr wrote:could you point me to the file and the code change so I can ensure it has been implemented in my code.

Thanks but for me that didn't work. But I may not have had a good 3.2 version to begin with. I did the following and it seemed to have resolved it on my staging site for a brief time but then failed again.leolam wrote:There is no file change...You just reload the upgrade with the "install from URL" zip link I provided. 1. upload full package via ftp
2. set remember me to 365 days
3. set remember me to 64 bit encryption
4. run the update as you suggested using the url you provided
I have tried them each separately and or together but without success.
Thanks for your help though with the URL update tip :-)

I have to roll back to 3.2 because 3.2.1 has no option to disable the new pasword encryption and I can not figure out how to verify a pasword from an external script :/

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.2.1 Released
Having established a new website from scratch with 3.2.1 there seems to be no problem even with PHP version 5.3.27 so it seems congratulations are in order.
However, with the upgrade package, there are several problems, not least of which is the fact that the user login and password reset functions simply don't work as they should. There have been several fixes proposed but none of them works either and to be honest, I am getting heartily fed up with the issues that seem to occur with every new version of Joomla. In fact, part of the problem for many is that there have been too many 'new' versions of Joomla, hastily released without proper testing and instead of concentrating on functionality, there seems to have been a focus on unnecessary features and gimmics.
It is my view that a straightforward upgrade from any other versions of Joomla is not possible and a look at the various blogs and forum seems to support this view. Downgrading to a version that actually works is similarly challenging.
Starting from scratch seems to work but if future upgrades are fraught with issues, it doesn't inspire confidence in the future of Joomla and especially now that most extensions designed for Version 3.x are commercial ones of variable quality and performance.
I have been loyal to Joomla for many years and invested a great deal of time and money in extensions but enough is enough. The fact that there are so many releases of Joomla has certainly discouraged some developers from supporting their extensions which creates other issues and I have now reached the point where I am looking around for something better, more stable and with some kind of product lifespan or continuity.
Wordpress has started to look interesting and Pimcore seems to have all the response without the hassle so unless Joomla starts to work as expected with a stable environment, fewer bugs and comes back down to earth, I know that I am not alone in thinking it is time to abandon ship for something that lets us get on with making websites without the distraction of 'bugs' and 'fixes' with every new release, even if it comes at a price.

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.2.1 Released
I updated to Joomla 3.2.1 from 3.1.6
I now have these errors
Under Content History:
View not found [name, type, prefix]: contenthistory, html, contenthistoryView
Under Post Installation Messages:
SQL=SHOW FULL COLUMNS FROM `mue_postinstall_messages`
And when I go to Extension Manager -> Database this is what I have
SQL=SHOW COLUMNS IN `mue_content_types` WHERE field = 'content_history_options'
so I'm not able to repair the database.
This is what I have done so far.
1) Installed 3.2.1 manually over the top of what was already installed.
2) Installed Akeeba Backup and did a backup.
3) Uninstalled FOF libraries, then uploaded them through FTP
Still the same problems.

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.2.1 Released
I helped her out. The first error that she was encountering was that mue_postinstall_messages didn't exist. mue_ is, of course, her table prefix. In looking at her database there was no table postinstall_messages. So, from a full package of Joomla 3.3.1, I copied the create table, as well as the inserts for #__postinstall_messages, change the prefix, and ran the SQL on her database. Error resolved.
The next error that she was receiving was mue_content_types didn't exist. Again, that table didn't exist in the database, so I did the same as above. Again, error resolved.
At that point, going to Extension Manager --> Database showed that the database structure was out of date. I was able to fix the database, and all appears to be running fine.
I recall having this issue before on an upgrade from 3.x.x to 3.3.x, and it was related to the same, or similar, issue. Other times there's no issues. It would appear that periodically there's an issue with the upgrade script no running the SQL. Suggestion to users: either use the built in Joomla Update (Components --> Joomla Update), or consider Akeeba CMS Update, which I just started using. It's a nice addition that does, essentially, the same thing as Joomla Update, but if you have Akeeba Backup installed, it create a site backup prior to installing the update files.

Since upgrading to 3.2.1 when I go to menu in Joomla backend the batch option automatically pops up as if I selected the option. Also in Kunena component a window pops up to return everything to default. I have cleared caches ect, to no avail.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
