I'm unable to update. When I use Akeeba's CMS Update or Components>Joomla Update I get this error

"The archive file is corrupt, truncated or archive parts are missing""

When I try to download the update package from the Joomla site & click on the link in the Announcement here http://www.joomla.org/announcements/rel ... eased.html

I get this error

We tracked this on our system to our "Path to Temp Folder" in Global Configuration->Server. This setting is really quite picky: it wants the relative path from the site root to the folder - i.e. /tmp in the standard configuration - including a single leading slash and nothing else. We originally had "yoursite.com/tmp" - and discovered the system had happily created a "yoursite.com" folder within Administrator, with a "tmp" subfolder.

We tried several different "path" strategies (and deleted as lot of new "tmp" folders), before we figured out that Path to Log behaves the same way. As a diagnostic aid, botch your login (on the front-end if possible), and immediately check the various "logs" folders; the one being used according to your Path settings will have an "error.php" with the current date-time.

We tracked this on our system to our "Path to Temp Folder" in Global Configuration->Server.

Though the fact that the /tmp folder is important the error posted above has nothing to do with Joomla. The Joomlacode website bugged out yesterday for a short period giving that error. Nobody was able to download at that moment and this error was quickly resolved by the for Joomlacode responsible team members.

It's back.

No need to post that every time. It has been resolved already and it will happen again. We are working on a news system which will resolve all these issues
