Don't forget, this is not a release for production sites. It requires testing and feedback.ibrown wrote: At last! Been waiting all day for this great event.

Re: Discuss: One Giant Step for the Joomlasphere — Joomla! 1.5 Beta Released
This is great news
Got 1 question though, when I install the beta will updates be rolled out similar to a normal release? i.e. when I go and test the beta and use it to set up a new site will I, over time, eventually get a stable 1.5 or could it involve having to remove and install with every beta update?
I know there are no guarantees but still, I am dying to make a new site based on 1.5

Re: Discuss: One Giant Step for the Joomlasphere — Joomla! 1.5 Beta Released
BIG BIG BIG congrats to all the teams.
Design is gorgeous, API is fantastic, UI is smooth. Beautiful new-born.
P.s. why is it still called 1.5 ? by the Christmas time that we get to stable, we could call it 2.0 ! :P
would follow a logic:
1.1 alpha
1.5 beta
2.0 stable

Re: Discuss: One Giant Step for the Joomlasphere — Joomla! 1.5 Beta Released
please, please don't get carried away with the excitement. we all must now do our bit and test, test, test and test again.
when you find something odd, and you are bound to as it's a beta, report it.
when you report try and give as much information about the error, exactly what you did to create it, can you repeat it and finally as much information about your system as possible including operating system, php version, mysql version and webserver version.

I concur fully. I was actually referring to my local sites which I use for testing and development work for clients. Certainly not live, public sites!mediamagnate wrote:Don't forget, this is not a release for production sites.ibrown wrote: At last! Been waiting all day for this great event.
