sql error while upgrading from 1.7.3 to 2.5.0.RC1
Hi, I just want to tell that I tested the upgrade from joomla 1.7.3 to the test releases of joomla 2.5.0.b1, b2 and now RC1. I started from a copy of a working production site and during install of the upgrade package (with all 3 versions), I get the same SQL errors: "JInstaller: :Install: Error SQL DB function failed with error number 1060..." I then used the "database fix" button which seems to solve the problems (no more errors indicated).
The problem is, accessing to articles from the frontend, some work, some fail to display, showing 404 article not found or 404 category not found.
I don't know if this is the right place to inform of such problems. Maybe this can help the joomla community. If usefull, I can do more tests.
Regards.

Re: Discuss Joomla 2.5 RC1 Released
Just installed rc1 on test server, no issues so far. I want to applaud the team for a great job with the added functionality.
1 additional feature I would like to see included in the core is a better wysiwyg editor like JCK or JCE with multimedia options.
cheers

"Add a true autoloader to the CMS"
What's a autoloader?
What's a autoloader?
Re: Discuss Joomla 2.5 RC1 Released
The autoloader is a method that attempts to automatically include classes without having to manually include, require, or jimport them. If you compare the file structure of libraries/joomla in 2.5 with 1.7, you'll see there's been a few files that have been renamed to allow for the autoloader to properly include those files. It's more of a developer feature than a front end designer or site visitor feature.Josh Lewis wrote:"Add a true autoloader to the CMS"

Re: Discuss Joomla 2.5 RC1 Released
Hello,
I tested the frontend of Joomla 2.5 RC1, and the only problem I found (so far) is that the Smart search does not work in IE6-7 (IEtester was used). I haven't found other forum topic to post this.
Regards,
Tamás

Can I use the update pkg (http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla ... e_id=16393) to update from RC to final version?

Re: Discuss Joomla 2.5 RC1 Released
probably before that...Jo80 wrote:Ok guys, cu next time here in 2013 on waiting for Joomla 3.5
Joomla! 2.5 will be supported atleast for next 18 months... but side by side 2.6, 2.7 etc shall be launched.... n ya, not to forget the versions like 2.5.x including security patches n bugfixes if any...
I am not confident enough but still feel that Joomla 3.0 will be out very soon, probably by September
*24 February 2012 - Joomla 1.7 reaches end of life and is no longer supported
*April 2012 - Joomla 1.5 reaches end of life
*September 2012 - Next version of Joomla is released
