Will there be pictures and a daily blog? Or, better yet, a live video feed?

Nice. Thanks for sharing. Everyone in attendance seems very interested. Some taking notes. Not a single sleeper that I could see! You guys are going to have a much-deserved BLAST! Make certain you have on your Joomla! t-shirts.

See you in Boston, and best of luck at LinuxWorld!  Hopefully I can skip up there early for the .org pavillion.

http://php.meetup.com/29/events/4866561/

No nagging debugging questions or wishlists: just there to take it all in.  I do want a t-shirt, though.

I can't be the only Joomla fan here who can make it there on the T.  Anyone else in?

Glad to have an event here in the States coming up! If it weren't for school, work and it being about 3,000 miles away I'd say 'count me in'. It would be awesome to have a west coast expo one of these days. All things in due time though, good to see so many countries kicking off their Joomla promotions. Good job team!

The article on the main site (http://www.joomla.org/content/view/1043/74/) still has the non-existing link to joomladay.nl
Tonie, f you don't have editor rights over there, could you pass this on to someone who has?

the forthcoming release of Joomla! 1.5 (did you say 1.5!, more news on that soon)

Anyone care to comment on this? (My bet is that it's the new name for 1.1)

Mmm... that, or some kind of leap to a "New cutting-edge CMS framework built with PHP 5" ?

Disclaimer: Pure, pristine, unadulterated speculation from a relative neophyte whose understanding of programming often goes something like...

Code:
10 print "Hello"
run

From the chat log:
[quote=∓quot;Jinx"\]the next version will not be called 1.1 but we are bumping the version number to 1.5, as we feel the work done, is much more then a simple minor version increase [/quote]
Good choice, five is one of my favourite numbers ;-)

.oO(I wonder if LinuxWorld will have those toy and balloon vendors you normally find on parade routes and outside arenas, hawking effigies of penguins, gadgets, GPLs and flimsy Solitaire software?)

Meanwhile, off-topic...

Ah, "I see" says the blind man.

On one hand, I'd be happy we won't be enduring three development cycles for a 1.4.  On the other hand, age ain't nothing but a number. :)

Wow... Toronto!

... that's about an hour and a half away... maybe... depends on where in Toronto.

I see this is a Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday event... makes it a little tough but I think I can ask for at least ONE vacation day and STILL call it "work-related" or maybe even get work to let me go as a paid day. I have to go search for more info on where this event will be held and such. Meanwhile... I hope to meet some of you there.

**edit**

oh my! I guess I'm an expo n00b. I looked at the information, found 3 tutorials I'd like to attend...all on Tuesday.. then went to registration... They are almost $300 EACH!  Maybe I'll just go up for the trade show.

See you in Toronto!  I don't have the budget for any of the conferences, but the tradeshow is the right price :)  I will drop by I guess on either the Tuesday or the Wednesday.  Looking forward to connecting!  Let me know if I can help at all - I work in Toronto.

Ian

A demo CD has been created that can be distributed at exhibitions. See http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,49684.msg266614.html#new for more details

Since the new structures are not really ready yet, there was not booth on the Cebit in Hannover, Germany, but probably next year??? It would be awesome if we could get a sponsor and a booth there where we can spread the Joomla philosophie. What do you think, would the Heise-company let us slip under their roof? Generally I doubt it, but I guess we should ask.

I want a Joomla (polo) shirt, too!
