Re: Discuss Joomla! 2.5.19 Released
When trying to install the update via the link in Admin panel it reports the zip file is corrupted.
When trying to download the update zip file from the announcement topic here I see the following displayed.
Seems there is a problem with this update?
Chas.

Re: Discuss Joomla! 2.5.19 Released
Well, very unhappy. Just a few security releases it should be....... So autoupdate, better safe then sorry, not?
Then to find out now that new users get a new password encryption. So the forum I use that uses the Joomla database to authenticate it's users to, doesn't work anymore. Because I used the salted calculation as Joomla had for years.
What to do now? Is it somewhere documented how it's done?

Re: Discuss Joomla! 2.5.19 Released
There's probably a temporary error with the update server.
Workaround:
Download the patch and use your website's Extension installer to install the update.
Note: you'd better backup your website (files+database) before doing so...

Re: Discuss Joomla! 2.5.19 Released
The instructions for Upgrading from an existing version Method A suggest that versions newer than 2.5.4 should have the Components > Joomla update. I'm running 2.5.18 and do not have that.
So clicking the Update button (Joomla 2.5.19 Update now) on the Admin Control panel, it points to http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsre ... ackage.zip . Click INSTALL THE UPDATE I get the error:
ERROR
The archive file is corrupt, truncated or archive parts are missing
So I back out of this page.
I change the update OPTIONS to custom URL
Upload and dearchive the update package to a directory on my website thus:
http://www......../files/Joomla_2.5.19- ... te_Package
Then I get another error saying:
Update: :Collection: Could not open http://www......./files/Joomla_2.5.19-S ... update.xml
Which is fair enough as there is no update.xml file in the package.
So now I'm stumped.

Re: Discuss Joomla! 2.5.19 Released
A last resort method:
create a backup (files+database) of current website (& download it to your local PC),
download a Joomla full installation package,
unzip at local PC,
and upload all files + folders (except the /installation/ folder) to the server, overwriting the current ones.
Then login into the /administrator/ goto Extensions > Extension Manager > Database, and click on "fix" to update Joomla's database structure to the last version.

Re: Discuss Joomla! 2.5.19 Released
Thanks Pe7er, I was planning that as a last resort but couldn't the update file that my install points to be investigated / repaired? or is the problem just my install? All previous updates have been applied without a hitch so I'm confused as to why I have to do it this way?
By the way, how was I supposed to install the update you provided in your earlier message?

Sorry Pe7er, I went back through the posts and realised I'd missed your reply
file
Uploaded this via the Extension installer and it installed OK.
It's a much smaller file, does that mean that some files are still old?
Went back to the Code Forge and downloaded thePe7er wrote:There's probably a temporary error with the update server....

Re: Discuss Joomla! 2.5.19 Released
If you had 2.5.18 then it's ok....
The 2.5.18->2.5.19 update package is smaller then other update packages,
because there are less differences between those 2 versions then e.g. 2.5.14 -> 2.5.19.

Re: Discuss Joomla! 2.5.19 Released
That's pretty much what I guessed Pe7er, thanks for your help, all is well now but it's still odd that the normal update threw the error mentioned? Oh well, never mind eh
