Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.6.2
Yes, you need to update component Joomla! Update before updating from 3.6.0 to 3.6.2. Just as you were instructed to do with 3.6.0 to 3.6.1. That is the reason the 3.6.2 is not shown when updating earlier versions.
Issue with migrating? Include logs/joomla_update.php in your report!

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.6.2
In my opinion the Joomla Update from 3.6.0 to 3.6.1 or 3.6.2 should stop if the Joomla!Update component 3.6.1 is not installed and the user be warnend.
If Joomla offers a one click button update you should not have to suddenly update a component first before you hit the one click update button.
Users get used to the one click button and usually don't read instructions first. (I have learned another lesson this time)
I'am still a very happy user of Joomla and have been for years. The progress from Joomla 1.0 to Joomla 3.6.2 is enormous. Thanks once again to the whole team for the good work!

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.6.2
That is in my humble opinion and experience (!) not mandatory but is advisable. An update from Joomla 3.6.0 to Joomla 3.6.2 through the Joomla (non patched) update component works as expected. I have not experienced any issues with that scenariosovainfo wrote:Yes, you need to update component Joomla! Update before updating from 3.6.0 to 3.6.2.

You have to do it otherwise you're going to hit the CSRF token error before the finalise step triggers.

I have not experienced that on multiple sites Michael (3.6.0--> 3.6.2) so I am sorry I cannot concur to that

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.6.2
Agreed, it seems like some sites run into the issue, and some don't. For the ones that do, it can be any combination of updating the update component, updating Akeeba Professional (or disabling the Backup on Update plugin), and clearing the cache. There's definitely been some wonkyness in the 3.5.1 -> 3.6.2 update series, but so far I haven't run into any serious issues (knock on wood).

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.6.2
Leo as long as you've updated the update component first it'll be fine. The problem with 3.6.0 and earlier updates to 3.6.1 and later is that 3.6.1 added a check for a CSRF token that doesn't get generated on 3.6.0. If you're doing an update that doesn't use the update component, then of course you'd be fine. But if you're using the component, you WILL hit the issue. If you don't, then I'd be immediately concerned to another issue on the site.

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.6.2
When editing an article, I'm now getting the following warning:
JUser: :_load: Unable to load user with ID: XXXX
Updated from 3.5.1 to 3.6.0 to 3.6.2. Never saw this warning before, do not see the warning if I create a new article, only Editing.
In case someone else sees this...
When an article does not have an Author, you get this message. Can be fixed by assigning a Created By found on the Publishing tab.

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.6.2
Hi BillyS,
The only way I can see that happening is if you've deleted the user who created the article. I just created a test article in Joomla 3.6.2, and as expected, it set me as the author.
I took the same upgrade path you did: 3.5.1 to 3.6.0 to 3.6.2
regards,
Brian

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.6.2
I experienced the same on one of my sites and there wasn't any user deleted in the past year. It could be an older article off cource.

Re: Discuss Joomla! 3.6.2
The website started with Mambo, that's how old it is... While I don't remember doing it (can't even remember what I had for dinner two days ago), I'm sure the reason is a user was deleted. I would have deleted the post, but this is new behavior and I wanted to help anyone that experienced the same.coaleb wrote:Hi BillyS,
