*** NOTE to Moderators: This submission replaces both five/point and white/point which are now widthdrawn as competition entries.  Please feel free to merge/delete the older threads if deemed appropriate. Apologies for the hassle... ***

*** Now updated to V1.0.3 (17 Oct) ***

fivepoint/unity replaces my entries for both five/point and white/point...why?  Because now both templates are rolled into one!

Demo site (dark version): http://www.toolboxcreations.com/demo/fivepoint
Demo site (dark version) with default J! 1.5 content: http://www.toolboxcreations.com/demo/fivepoint_default
Demo site (light version) with default J! 1.5 content: http://www.toolboxcreations.com/demo/whitepoint

Download here: http://www.toolboxcreations.com/downloa ... /index.php

Image

fivepoint/unity features all five color styles with an additional option in the administrator to choose between light and dark versions.  The following improvements and additions have also been made:

- Set the size of the font for the site title (sIFR mode) - use to make your title larger/smaller depending on the text
- Alter the positioning of the sIFR site title - useful if you alter size or replace with your own sIFR fonts
- Default right-column width lowered to allow viewing on 1024x768 without the need for scrolling
- Adjusted top menu position to far left if content skip is disabled
- All CSS is trimmed and optimised for best size
- Various minor tweaks and bug fixes

Features include:

- Two Primary styles (light & dark)
- Five pre-loaded color styles for each primary color
- Real time style switcher
- Insert your own sIFR site title & slogan, and change the size and position
- Choose from 3 built-in font styles
- Change the height of the top bar, or disable it altogether
- Choose your right column width, and whether it auto-collapses or not
- Set the template to a center or left alignment
- Choose to show or hide the content skip button, the ColorSwitcher, the breadcrumbs, and the component output
- Enable and disable the sIFR titles (or replace with normal text)
- Toggle the Joomla banner on and off

The template is also:

- XHTML1.0 valid
- CSS2 valid
- Section 508 compliant

Additional features - 1.0.3+

- A handful of minor CSS tweaks, just to correct some very small positioning and layout niggles
- Removed the forced lower-case from content headings
- Added a parameter to enable the user to change the primary font style
- Added a parameter to changed the default body font size
- Added styling to table.contenttoc for inline content table-of-contents
- Added an additional image for the left-column active menu "star"
- Added ten new typography "notices" - see http://demo.toolboxcreations.com/fivepoint/typography for examples

SIFR font styles:

Parameters:

Module Positions:

I'd like to take the opportunity to thanks the Joomla! community for all their useful feedback and nice comments on this submission - thanks to you I've turned this into something that I'm very proud of.

I hope you all enjoy using it as much as I have enjoyed making it!

[EDIT MOD: edited Moderator Note to "Note to Moderators" to make it clearer... ;). infograf768]

UPDATED 22/09/07 to include "".
UPDATED 22/09/07 to include "baseurl ?>" for SVN 8898

I really like the dark version of this template, its the only real competitor to the JoomlaPraise template.

A couple of things I noticed which could easily be corrected...

It doesn't validate as valid CSS or XHTML which JoomlaPraise does.

XHTML..
http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1 ... vepoint%2F

CSS..
http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/vali ... vepoint%2F

There's only four errors in total, all of which are really quick and easy to rectify.

I'm usually not a fan of the dark themes but with the contrasting colours and bright and vivid images, this one's really good!

Nice work

:D :D :D

Ack! All that checking and double-checking and I didn't think to double-check the validation  :-[

Anyway, three words added and all is well  :D

Many thanks for pointing it out....and for the comments.

I really like dark themes, but admit it's not for everyone - thought it might make a nice change to see some darkness amongst all the light themes...still at least with this theme you can choose ;)

Sweet move combining these. Looks the biz... if only it had the ability to increase and decrease font sizes :)

Oh I see...well all font sizes are relative, so you can just change the core size in CSS (on the body tag) and that should affect the whole site.

Really great template, I love it.

I tried it on my site (it is still there) and something is not completelly right.  You will see that the text of the articles are going over the border.  (I hope i make myself clear).

You can see it at http://www.musicaltradingplace.com

Am I doing something wrong ?

**edit**
Now I have put a module in the 'left' section and the text completely dissapears under this section.  Without the 'left'  section the text goes beyond the border and dissapears under the 'rigth' section.

Your content is too wide for the content area.  The template is fixed width so you will need to ensure your images do not breach the limits.  There is no problem with the template :)

Interesting.. I've also been playing with this template (although I've hacked a few gfx to customise it a bit more, and I'm too embarrassed to show you!) but we've both gone for the light theme! Probably not important :)

I'm having an issue with this template.

It installs no problem. Though the template won't load on my site. It loads the site with no template what so ever. All the modules display one on top of the other and with no CSS.

The seperate fivepoint template works correctly when I install that one, but the unity template does not.

You can see what's happening here:
My Testing Site Here

!!UPDATE!!
After a bunch of fiddling around and troubleshooting it turns out that "$this->baseurl" is not resolving. I'm not sure why it isn't. It might have something to do with the fact that I don't have a URL yet and I'm just using my IP address. I've removed all instances of "baseurl ?>/" in the index.php file and everything looks OK so far.

The baseurl is needed as its part of the latest nightly build :) I recommend reverting your changes and update to the latest nightly build :)

sorry you have only 1 bug in my Konqueror 3.3.1 when you see the text  JoomlaJunkie releases a new version of the popular JJ Absolute tem // this text is over the other text that it is at its right and so there are text under another text

It is only 1 bug / I repeat as in joomlart template there are a lot of bugs and you have only 1 bug for the Linux world  :)

Thanks!  The problem is that there is a HUGE URL in this feed article, and as a result the text cannot wrap, and it forces the content to overflow.  No great solution to this really...but will see what I can do...

Many thanks
Dan

I like the way you find solutions - instead of joomlart where my posts are ignored!!! They don't want to solve any bug in the template...  ??? But you are the First!!!!!!!!!

I've got similar issues. 1) When I move the cursor over the edit button on an article (pic 1) and then when I go to edit the document it's all over the place (pic 2) 3) Even my docs seem to wrap under the text (pic3) and I don't see any long lines on my text...
